Leandro Andrade: "Every time we attacked, the fans made a lot of noise"

“I think we performed well as a team. We played together and supported each other.”

“Qarabag” player Leandro Andrade said this in an interview with Teleqraf after their 5-1 victory over North Macedonia’s “Shkendija” in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, Idman.biz reports.

The 26-year-old midfielder emphasized the role of the fans in reaching the play-off stage: “I want to thank all the fans because the atmosphere was amazing. Every time we attacked, the fans made a lot of noise, and this gave us great motivation. So, it turned out to be a great day.”

Andrade also highly valued the changes that took place in the team during the summer break: “First of all, there are very good players on the field. Secondly, they are great people. At the base, meaning off the field, we also have a very good relationship. This is very important.”

He shared his expectations for the upcoming play-off matches against Hungary’s “Ferencvaros”: They will be tough games. It’s hard to say in advance whether we will win. Before the game, I don’t think we will get a 1-0 or 5-0 win. I fully focus on the coach’s instructions and on my own work.”

Leandro Andrade scored the final goal in the second leg against “Shkendija.”
