Tottenham Hotspur are in preliminary discussions with Manchester City over a potential transfer for Brazil winger Savinho, sources told BBC Sport.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that the 21-year-old, who featured regularly last season with 48 appearances and three goals under Pep Guardiola, could move as Spurs look to bolster their attack following the sale of Son Heung-min to LAFC. However, Manchester City are reluctant to sell Savinho and would consider offers only above £50 million, a hefty profit on the £30.8 million they paid Troyes last year.
City’s recent signing of France’s Rayan Cherki may reduce Savinho’s playing time, prompting Spurs’ interest. Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank is keen to strengthen the squad amid setbacks, including midfielder James Maddison’s ACL injury ruling him out for most of the season. Spurs have already secured Mohammed Kudus for £55 million but missed out on Morgan Gibbs-White.
Negotiations remain in the early stages, and it is unclear if Manchester City will sanction the deal.
