Crystal Palace ready to sell captain Marc Guehi amid contract stand-off

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has confirmed the club is open to selling captain Marc Guehi this transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.

Idman.biz, citing The Guardian, reports that the England international, in the final year of his contract, has attracted interest from Liverpool, Newcastle, and Tottenham. Liverpool are reportedly Guehi’s preferred choice, but have yet to meet Palace’s £40m valuation.

Parish stressed the financial risk of allowing top players to leave on a free, recalling last summer’s departure of Joachim Andersen to Fulham. “It needs a new contract or a conclusion of some kind,” he said. Guehi could sign a pre-contract with overseas clubs in January.

Meanwhile, Eberechi Eze is on Arsenal’s radar. Parish promised to support manager Oliver Glasner in the market but warned of budget limits. He also remains hopeful that Palace will win their CAS appeal over demotion from the Europa Conference League, with a verdict expected Monday.
