The work permit for Azerbaijani footballer Turan Manafov, who has joined South Africa’s “Stellenbosch” club, is expected to be resolved in about ten days.
According to Idman.biz, the 26-year-old midfielder shared this information in a statement to Report news agency.
He explained the reason why his transfer has not been officially announced: “This issue does not depend on the club or me. It’s due to the work permit not being obtained yet. Once the document arrives, the club will officially announce my transfer. That’s the only problem. All other matters have been fully resolved. We’re just waiting for the document now. It should be ready in the coming days, approximately in ten days.”
Manafov added that the transfer is expected to be finalized next week: “The official announcement of the move is expected next week. I’m already training with the team as one of their players. I’ve also passed the medical examination and am taking part in full team training sessions as a member of the squad. Only the permit remains.”
The player explained his choice to move to South Africa as follows: “They were interested in me last summer as well. I was already planning to continue my career abroad. That’s why I made this decision. It’s a new challenge for me.”
