Sartan Tashkyn, who has played for the Azerbaijan national football team, has joined Serik Belediyespor, a club recently promoted to Turkey’s First League, from Sumgayit during the off-season.
Speaking to Idman.biz, the 27-year-old footballer talked about his new team's preparations for the upcoming season.
He said everything is going well at Serik Belediyespor and that the adaptation process has not been difficult: “Most of my teammates are new, the squad has been newly assembled. That’s why everyone supports one another. Our team is based in the Antalya region. The new season starts this week. We are in a short training camp, preparing for the match. We will head to Istanbul. On August 9, we have a game against Istanbulspor.”
Sartan added that he has gained the trust of the team’s Russian head coach Sergey Yuran and believes he will become a regular starter: “Since I joined the team a bit late, I missed the first training camp. I’ve been participating in the second camp. The coach's attitude toward me is good. I need to prove myself to earn a spot in the starting lineup. I hope I’ll make it into the first eleven.”
For the record, Sartan Tashkyn signed a one-year contract with Serik Belediyespor. In 2024, he played for Manisa in Turkiye.
