The transfer of Hojjat Hagverdi, who recently parted ways with “Neftchi,” to “Araz-Nakhchivan” has not materialized.
Idman.biz, citing Teleqraf, reports that although the 32-year-old defender held talks with the Nakhchivan-based club, the parties failed to reach an agreement on financial terms.
Despite head coach Elmar Bakhshiyev including the player in his future plans, Hagverdi was not interested in the opportunity to participate in the UEFA Conference League.
He had previously turned down an offer from “Sumgayit,” his first club in Azerbaijan. Currently without a club, the player is in talks with one Premier League club and one foreign team.
Hojjat Hagverdi last received a call-up to the Azerbaijan national team in 2023.
