Azerbaijan has increased its points in the UEFA rankings.
This happened after Qarabag’s match against Shkendija (North Macedonia) in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, Idman.biz reports.
The Azerbaijani champions secured a 1-0 away win, earning the country an additional 0.250 points in the UEFA rankings. As a result, Azerbaijan’s total for the last five seasons has reached 19.000 points.
The country currently ranks 28th. Ukraine is one spot ahead with 19.225 points, while Russia follows in 29th place with 18.299 points.
The gap with Ukraine has narrowed due to Dynamo Kyiv’s defeat in the Champions League. They lost 0-1 to Cyprus’ Pafos in the first leg of the third qualifying round.
