These words were said by former head coach of the Azerbaijan national team, Shahin Diniyev, in an interview with Sport24.az, Idman.biz reports.
The experienced specialist shared his expectations regarding the first-leg match between Shkendija and Qarabag in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League: "After eliminating FCSB in the second qualifying round, the opponent has made a name for themselves in Europe. They are a compact team. It's very difficult to make predictions in football, but Qarabag’s European experience and current squad give them an advantage. Shkendija will only try to accomplish something through collective effort. In this regard, Qarabag has a better chance. Of course, it won’t be as easy as we might think. Qarabag will have to put in more effort. There are still some issues in terms of gameplay, but I believe the team will minimize these problems game by game."
The Shkendija vs Qarabag match will be held on August 7 at 22:00 Baku time. The return leg will take place a week later in Baku.
