"It will be a tough but equally interesting encounter for both teams."
According to Idman.biz, these words were said in an interview with AZERTAC by North Macedonian veteran footballer Muarem Muarem, who once played for "Qarabag", while speaking about his former team's UEFA Champions League second qualifying round matches against his country’s club “Shkendija”.
The former midfielder, who wore the Agdam side’s jersey at different times, said the chances are equal: “Because Shkendija secured a confident win over Romania's FCSB last night, showing how ambitious and well-prepared a team they are. There are players in the squad who have known each other and played together for many years. Shkendija is a team that enjoys possession, can cause serious problems for opponents, and is made up of very high-quality players.”
Despite these factors, Muarem emphasized that the Azerbaijani champions are the favorites in this tie: "However, anything is possible in football. Surprises can happen during the course of the matches. Some things may unfold differently than expected. That’s why both teams have a chance to progress to the next stage."
The first leg between the two teams will take place in Skopje on August 5 at 22:00 Baku time. The return leg will be held a week later at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium and will start at 20:00.
