The number of victories by Azerbaijani clubs in European competitions has reached 150.
The milestone win came in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round match between Qarabag and Shelbourne, Idman.biz reports.
The Agdam representative defeated the Irish club 1-0. The 150th win coincided with the 477th match of Azerbaijani teams on the continental stage.
Our clubs have recorded 38 wins in the Champions League, 82 in the Europa League (formerly the UEFA Cup), 21 in the Conference League, and 9 in the Intertoto Cup. Out of these, 87 victories were earned at home, while 63 came on the road.
The first win by an Azerbaijani club dates back to July 17, 1996, when Neftchi beat Sofia’s Lokomotiv 2-1 in Baku.
