Arsenal’s summer may have been dominated by high-profile signings like Viktor Gyokeres, but it’s 15-year-old Max Dowman who’s stealing the spotlight.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that the academy midfielder, one of the youngest players on the club’s pre-season tour of Asia, has impressed in friendlies against AC Milan and Newcastle.
Dowman first trained with Arsenal’s senior squad at age 14 and was included in the Dubai winter camp earlier this year. With key attackers like Saka and Martinelli facing injury setbacks last season, there were even whispers of an early first-team debut.
Against Newcastle, Dowman won a decisive penalty after a dazzling dribble into the box, earning praise from Mikel Arteta: “What he’s done is certainly not common for a 15-year-old. We’re very happy to have him.”
With continued development, Dowman may be on track for a historic Premier League debut this season.
