“In the first game, we saw that in terms of skill, Qarabag is far superior to Shelbourne.”
These words were said by former Azerbaijani national team defender Zaur Hashimov in an interview with Sport24.az while sharing his expectations for the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round second-leg match between Qarabag and Shelbourne (Ireland), Idman.biz reports.
The veteran footballer stated that he does not believe a miracle will happen in the match: “True, at certain times during the match, Shelburne was able to create dangerous moments in front of our team’s goal. Nevertheless, Qarabag returned from the away game with a 3-0 victory. I do not believe any miracle will happen in Baku. Although Shelbourne will organize a few attacks at home, they will struggle to do so in Baku. Qarabag will control the ball throughout the game. We can say with confidence that Qarabag will be the team to advance.”
The Qarabag vs. Shelbourne match will kick off at 20:00 at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. The first game held in Dublin ended with a 3-0 victory for Gurban Gurbanov’s team.
