Jeyhun Sultanov: “The Irish club doesn’t have quality players to make a comeback against Qarabag”

“The Irish club Shelbourne does not have quality players to make a comeback in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round against Qarabag.”

This was stated in an interview with Report news agency by former Azerbaijani national team player Jeyhun Sultanov, Idman.biz reports.

The 46-year-old former midfielder believes the Aghdam side will win the return leg as well: “Qarabag won the first match 3-0. It’s not convincing that Shelbourne will make a comeback, as they lack quality players in their squad. Meanwhile, Qarabag has brought in new players. I think they will take the field to adapt and further improve their performance. I believe Qarabag will win this match too. Of course, mistakes happen in every game. But the Irish club, for example, doesn’t have the strength to beat Qarabag 4-0. I wish our team success. In my opinion, the team will gradually reach its desired form.”

The Qarabag vs Shelbourne match will take place tomorrow at 20:00 at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. The first leg held in Dublin ended with a 3-0 victory for Gurban Gurbanov’s team.
