Imishli’s home stadium uncertain ahead of Premier League debut - VIDEO

Whether “Imishli” will host their Azerbaijan Premier League home games at the Guba Olympic Complex depends on the steps the club takes.

The Professional Football League’s (PFL) Media and Marketing Director, Sanan Abdullayev, stated this in an interview with Report news agency, Idman.biz reports.

He mentioned that the PFL had inspected the Guba Olympic Complex following a request from “Imishli” club: “Based on a request from the club, the PFL conducted an inspection of the Guba Olympic Complex. It is pleasing that many positive aspects were revealed during the visit. There are stands on three sides of the stadium, and it is suitable for hosting matches. The grass on the pitch is natural and in good condition. The irrigation system also meets standards.”

Abdullayev also pointed out some shortcomings in the stadium: “The substitute benches and technical area need adjustments. Overall, the dressing rooms and referee rooms are in normal condition, but some work is still needed. A press conference room and media workroom must be prepared. Work also needs to be done in the VIP areas and doping control room. Additionally, changes are necessary to ensure the comfort and proper seating of fans. CBC Sport representatives will soon inspect the stadium for broadcasting purposes and will share their requirements regarding filming platforms and commentator positions. The PFL has provided the club with a detailed list of all deficiencies. Whether “Imishli” can hold their home games there will depend on the steps the club takes.”

Other Premier League teams such as “Turan Tovuz” will play home matches at Azersun Arena, “Kapaz” in the Gabala City Stadium, and “Karvan” in the Shamakhi stadium.
