Interview with Peritan Bozdag, member of the Azerbaijan women’s national football team who transferred to Turkiye’s Fenerbahce
– What can you say about your transfer to Fenerbahce?
– I feel very happy. It is an honor to join such a club.
– When did you receive the offer from the Istanbul-based club?
– This matter came up during the recent training camp with the national team. We had already been in talks. It didn’t take me long to make the decision.
– What does joining one of Turkiye’s biggest clubs mean to you?
– Joining the biggest sports club in Turkey is a great event for me. Psychologically, Fenerbahce is always a team that fights for leadership and plays to win. This situation can have a positive effect on me. I believe I share the same feelings with the club, and I am sure this unity will help me a lot and positively influence my future.
– What will be the club’s goals for the new season?
– Fenerbahce is a club that plays for the championship. Hopefully, I will contribute to this goal. We will do our best to achieve the team’s objectives.
– What are the differences between women’s football in Azerbaijan and Turkiye?
– Azerbaijani national team players compete in Turkish clubs. We just expect more support from the people and the federation. Such support is essential for more girls to be able to play in big clubs like me. I also want to say that with enough support, women can achieve anything.
– What would you like to say to Azerbaijani fans?
– I want to tell the fans there that if women’s football receives the same level of support as men’s football, the results will be more successful and impactful. To all the girls in Azerbaijan – if you work hard, stay disciplined, and keep trying, you can make your dreams come true. Never lose hope.
