– How is the team's preparation for the new season going?
– The training is continuing as usual. It’s been three weeks since we started the training camp. Since everyone is coming back from vacation, the first camp is always tough. We need to build up some strength to be ready for the championship.
– You played a goalless draw in a friendly against “Imishli”. What can you say about that match?
– The result doesn’t matter that much. What’s important is gaining match practice and rhythm. We were working on several combinations. I think we’ll do better with each match.
– “Sumgayit” has been training under new head coach Sasa Ilic for several weeks now. What are your initial impressions of him?
– It was very interesting to meet him. He had a very good playing career. He will bring his own vision to the team. I think Sasa Ilic can contribute a lot to the club and each player.
– The draw for the Premier League season has been made. “Sumgayit” will face ambitious teams like “Qarabag” and “Neftchi” in the first five rounds. Will that be difficult?
– I didn’t even pay attention to that. One way or another, we’ll have to play every team sooner or later. Regardless of the opponent, we must go out and play our own game.
– In your opinion, what should “Sumgayit”’s main goal be for the 2025/2026 season?
– The point is that who and when joins our club is very important. Transfers will be made, because the team is not complete yet.
