Chelsea have opened talks with Ajax over the potential signing of 19-year-old centre-back Jorrel Hato, while also stepping up efforts to land RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons. Hato enjoyed a standout season in the Eredivisie, making 31 appearances and catching the eye of top European clubs.
Idman.biz, citing BBC Sport, reports that Chelsea are in early discussions with both Ajax and Hato’s representatives, although no deal has been agreed yet.
Simultaneously, Chelsea are negotiating personal terms with 22-year-old Simons, who is reportedly open to a move to Stamford Bridge. The Dutch international only joined Leipzig permanently in January after two successful loan spells from Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea face competition from Bayern Munich and Arsenal. While Bayern are also monitoring Simons, they are said to be prioritising Liverpool’s Luis Diaz. Arsenal remain informed of Simons' availability as they assess summer transfer options.
