Manchester United's pursuit of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has hit a roadblock after the Bees raised their asking price to nearly £70m, while United are unwilling to go beyond £65m.
Idman.biz, citing BBC, reports that Liverpool have opened talks with Eintracht Frankfurt for 23-year-old French striker Hugo Ekitike, but Newcastle United are pressing ahead in a bid to partner him with Alexander Isak next season.
Aston Villa are also monitoring United winger Alejandro Garnacho, 21, with reports suggesting a potential swap deal involving Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson is being considered. Jackson, 24, is on United’s radar, while Villa and AC Milan are also keeping tabs on the Senegalese forward.
Elsewhere, Sunderland are eyeing Granit Xhaka, West Ham are chasing Marcus Tavernier, and Leeds have agreed in principle to sign Anton Stach. Inter Milan are preparing a move for Ademola Lookman, and Bayern’s £43m bid for Nick Woltemade was rejected. Real Madrid may sell Vinicius Jr unless he lowers wage demands.
