Former FIFA president Joseph Blatter has criticized the current leadership of the federation and the direction the organization has taken in recent years.

He stated that football has effectively been handed over to Saudi Arabia: “They were offered the game, and they took it. What’s surprising is that there’s no resistance to this within FIFA itself. There are too many football matches nowadays. The same players and clubs suffer without rest. The extreme heat accompanying the Club World Cup throughout the summer is harmful to health and unacceptable.”
