Zira has filed a complaint with FIFA.
Idman.biz, citing Sportinfo.az, reports that the silver medalist of the Azerbaijan Premier League has submitted a letter to the world football governing body regarding forward Raphael Utzig.
The club informed FIFA that the Brazilian striker failed to fulfill his contractual obligations.
It was noted that Utzig left Azerbaijan at the end of May, and although the team started preparations for the new season several weeks ago, he has yet to return to camp.
The club from the Zira settlement sent FIFA a copy of the contract signed with the South American player, as well as documents proving his unexplained absence.
Since May, Utzig has become a serious headache for Zira. Just before the season ended, he met with club officials and expressed a desire to terminate his contract, valid until the summer of 2026, by mutual agreement.
He cited several attractive offers from Europe and Asia as the reason.
Assessing the situation properly, the club listed him for transfer.
Interested clubs must pay compensation of nearly $200,000 to acquire him. However, as of now, no serious suitor has stepped forward.
Despite having received advance notice about the start of preseason training, just like all other players, Utzig has failed to show up, ignoring communications and instructions from club management.
