"To be honest, I sometimes miss the old routine, discipline, and physical shape."
Former national team striker Arif Isayev said this in an interview with Sportinfo.az, Idman.biz reports.
A product of “Ganjlarbirliyi,” Isayev retired from football years ago and is now involved in private business.
When asked about similarities between running a restaurant and playing football, he replied: "I’d say they are quite different. Life as a footballer requires strict discipline – you have to watch your diet, training, and rest times very carefully. It demands a high level of order. The restaurant business isn’t that demanding. Once the workflow is established, the staff runs it like a machine. You’re not obligated to wake up early or sleep at a specific time. That’s why I can’t really control my weight, God knows what numbers I’ve reached by now."
