Preparations have officially started for the opening of FC Barcelona's football academy in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Idman.biz, citing Report news agency, reports that renovation and reconstruction work is currently underway at ASK Arena, the planned site of the academy.
The restoration and installation of new turf for the main pitch, which spans approximately 9,500 square meters, as well as a secondary training field of about 4,200 square meters, are being carried out by AzFar Group.
The project also includes the following improvements:
- Upgrading the lighting systems for the football pitches in accordance with modern standards
- Complete renovation of changing rooms, sanitary facilities, technical and auxiliary rooms for athletes and staff
- Installation and full commissioning of ventilation and air conditioning systems in the administrative areas where these rooms are located
