Ehtiram Guliyev, Chairman of the Board of Turan Tovuz, has met with renowned German football expert Bernd Stange as part of the Azerbaijan-Germany Friendship Week.
The meeting was announced by the club’s press service.
Also present at the meeting were Chingiz Abdullayev, Chairman of the German-Azerbaijani Society, Elchin Usub, Chairman of the Board of Shamakhi FC, and Azerbaijani football veteran Veli Gasimov.
During the visit, the guests were provided with extensive information about Turan Tovuz and the football culture in the Tovuz region. It was noted that football in Tovuz has historical roots dating back to the early 20th century, thanks to German settlers.
The delegation also received insights about Shamakhi FC, followed by an exchange of ideas and discussions on potential areas of cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Bernd Stange was presented with an official Turan Tovuz jersey. In a symbolic gesture, Chingiz Abdullayev gifted Ehtiram Guliyev a historic photo from the first official football match held in Tovuz in 1920, featuring Rote Fahne and Tovuz.
