Azerbaijan national team midfielder Sabuhi Abdullazada shared his thoughts with Idman.biz following the friendly match against Hungary in Baku.
Idman.biz reports that reflecting on the 2–1 defeat, the 23-year-old midfielder said, “We played against a tough opponent whose quality we knew beforehand. Still, we went onto the field determined to win and fought until the very end. Unfortunately, we couldn’t secure the victory to make our people happy. Everyone who joins the national team understands that they represent their country and people. I hope we can show this better in the upcoming matches.”
Abdullazada also commented on the recent friendly against Latvia: “Compared to Hungary, Latvia was an easier opponent. We created more scoring chances in that match but unfortunately didn’t convert them.”
The Azerbaijan team drew 0–0 with Latvia in that game.
