Khalilzada noted that when he was playing big football, he had agreed on all the terms of a 3-year contract with one of the Turkish clubs. However, the transfer did not happen because Sabah demanded 1 million dollars from them. The Super League club refused to pay that amount, saying, "We are not buying Lionel Messi."
As a result, the transfer fell through, and Khalilzada was unable to play abroad. During his professional football career, he also played for Qarabag, AZAL, Zira, and Gabala.
It is worth mentioning that Tamkin Khalilzada played 17 matches and scored 3 goals for the Azerbaijani national football team between 2017 and 2019. He is remembered for his famous goal against Croatia in the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying stage.
