Idman.biz reports that these words were shared by the President of the Professional Football League (PFL), Elkhan Samadov, in an interview with Teleqraf, reflecting on his team’s victory in the Azerbaijan Futsal Cup.
According to him, the opponent’s losses also played a role in PFL’s win: "As I said before, playing against Araz-Nakhchivan is already an honor. We worked very hard and luck was on our side. The absence of foreign players and the many injuries in Araz-Nakhchivan balanced the strength between the teams. Otherwise, winning wouldn’t have been possible."
Samadov also spoke about his love for football: "I have always said that futsal is very popular in Azerbaijan. The contribution of Federation President Zaur Akhundov is undeniable. The club I coached, BEGOC (European Games Operations Committee), reached the final in the 2015/2016 season but lost the decisive match to EKOL. This time, due to health reasons, I wasn’t on the court, but I was always with the team. Football is not just my job; it’s my life. I am very happy today. I sincerely thank everyone who paid attention and congratulated me, both on my own behalf and on behalf of my team."
Note that PFL defeated Araz-Nakhchivan 7-1 in the final.
