These were the words of Qarabag midfielder Leandro Andrade in a statement to Idman.biz.
The Cape Verdean star, who finished as the top scorer of the 2024/25 Misli Premier League season, shared his feelings: “It’s incredibly rewarding to work so hard for something and then receive such an honor. This memory will stay with me for the rest of my life. I’m very happy.”
However, Andrade also expressed disappointment over Qarabag’s defeat in the Azerbaijan Cup final: “When you work hard for things, it's nice to have a prize like this. It's a big memory for all my life. I'm very happy. I wish I could be even more happy with the win today. But it's ok, it's football. Most important thing is I will go on holidays and see my family. I miss them so much.”
Andrade has been with Qarabag since January 2022. His current contract runs until June 2027. He scored 15 goals to become the league's top scorer this season.
