Qarabag midfielder Yassine Benzia has been hit with a five-match suspension.
The disciplinary action stems from incidents during the Azerbaijan Cup final against Sabah FC, Idman.biz reports.
In the 120th minute of the match, the Algerian player was shown a straight red card for insulting the referee. He then attempted to confront the official physically, leading to a harsher punishment. As a result, Benzia has been banned for five matches.
Additionally, Qarabag has been fined 3,000 AZN for the incident.
The final ended in a 3–2 victory for Sabah FC.
