Neftchi continues its transfer efforts for the 2025/26 season and is aiming to strengthen its squad with a new defender.
Idman.biz, citing Sport24.az, reports that the Baku-based club has set its sights on Argentine centre-back Lucas Masoero, who recently parted ways with Romanian side Universitatea Craiova following the expiration of his contract.
The 30-year-old defender is also on the radar of several clubs, including Turkiye’s Gaziantep, Genclerbirligi, and Karagumruk, as well as UAE sides Baniyas and Al-Dhafra.
It remains unclear which offer Masoero will ultimately accept.
Since joining Universitatea in 2023, Masoero has made 68 appearances and scored 7 goals.
