Ballon d'Or frontrunner: “Everyone keeps talking to me about it”

Ousmane Dembélé is having the season of his life — and the football world has taken notice.

The Paris Saint-Germain winger has scored 33 goals and provided 13 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions this season. He helped PSG clinch the Ligue 1 title for the second consecutive year and was named the league’s best player. Now, the 28-year-old Frenchman stands on the brink of winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time in his career.

Dembélé, widely considered a leading contender for the 2025 Ballon d'Or, shared his thoughts, Idman.biz reports:

“Everyone keeps talking to me about it. But as I’ve said before, the most important thing right now is winning the Champions League. When you play for PSG, collective success means more than individual awards.”

He added:

“We’re focused on winning the trophy. I hope we can come out on top in the final.

But it won’t be easy — Inter is a tough opponent. I’ve been watching them all season, especially because Marcus Thuram plays there. They’ve built strong chemistry over the past 4–5 years.

It won’t be an easy game, but we believe in ourselves.”

PSG and Inter Milan will face off in the Champions League final tomorrow. A win could not only earn Dembélé European glory but also strengthen his claim to football’s most prestigious individual honour.
