The head coaches of the Azerbaijan Cup finalists are heading into the decisive match with very different track records.
Qarabag’s manager Gurban Gurbanov stands as the most successful coach in the tournament’s history, having already secured six cup titles, Idman.biz reports.
Undefeated in finals, the experienced coach now aims to extend his own record by claiming a seventh.
Meanwhile, Vasili Berezutski, who took over as Sabah’s head coach mid-season, is in his debut campaign. The Russian coach could make history by becoming the 17th manager to lift the trophy. So far, 16 coaches have achieved this feat:
