Chelsea has won the UEFA Conference League for the first time in its history, defeating Real Betis 4–1 in the final.
The London club earned £5.86 million in prize money for this victory, Idman.biz reports.
Prior to the final, Chelsea had already earned £9.83 million from their successful performances in the group stage and playoffs. In total, their revenue from the Conference League amounted to £15.69 million.
For comparison, another London club, Tottenham, earned £21 million as the winner of the Europa League.
Both Chelsea and Tottenham will compete in the main stage of next season’s Champions League, which will automatically earn them £15.587 million each.
