Retired Azerbaijani footballer Vali Gasimov has expressed confidence in his former club Real Betis ahead of tonight’s UEFA Europa Conference League final against Chelsea.
Speaking to Idman.biz, Gasimov said:
“I hope Betis will be the champion. As a former Betis player, I’ve been supporting the team for many years. I’m very happy they reached the final. Of course, Chelsea is a strong opponent and considered the favorite, but I still believe Betis will win. The club is doing great things from its academy to the senior team.”
He also noted that he still maintains contact with some of his former teammates, many of whom now work at Betis:
“Whenever I visit Spain, I try to meet them. They often invite me to matches, either with the first team or the veterans. Betis fans are truly special — they support their team whether it wins or loses. That kind of loyalty is rare these days.”
The Betis vs. Chelsea final will kick off tonight at 11:00 PM Baku time in Wrocław, Poland.
