The Mehdi Huseynzade Stadium in Sumgayit will host an Azerbaijan Cup final for the third time in its history.
This venue will stage the decisive match between Qarabag and Sabah, Idman.biz reports.
The first final held at the stadium took place in 1994, when Kapaz defeated Khazar Lankaran in the final of the 1993/94 season. Seven years later, in 2001, Shafa overcame Neftchi at the same venue.
In total, eight different stadiums have hosted Azerbaijan Cup finals. The Tofig Bahramov Republican Stadium in Baku leads the list with 18 finals. With its third final this year, Sumgayit will equal the record of the Gabala City Stadium, which has also hosted three finals.
The Nakhchivan City Stadium and Liv Bona Dea Arena have each hosted the final twice. ASK Arena, Bank Respublika Arena, and Neftchi Arena have hosted the title decider only once.
The highly anticipated Qarabag vs Sabah final will kick off at 19:00 on May 31.
