These were the words of Sarkhan Aghayev, a player of Khankendi, the champions of the 2024/2025 AFFA Regional League season, in a statement to Sport24.az, Idman.biz reports.
Aghayev, who was named the Player of the Season in the Regional League, shared his joy:
“I’m proud to become champion with Khankendi. I’m happy to have contributed to this title. On top of that, being chosen the best player of the season is beyond exciting for me. As a team, we’ve always set the goal of becoming champions. God willing, if I continue with the club, I’ll do my absolute best. We’ll fight for top positions in the Second League. We know it will be tough, but we’re not afraid of anything.”
The final match took place at the Gabala City Stadium, where Khankendi defeated Shirvan 3-0. With this win, Khankendi earned the right to participate in the Second League and will represent Azerbaijan in the next UEFA Regions' Cup. Shirvan will play a playoff match for a Second League spot.
