Head coach of Turkiye’s national minifootball team, Durul Tug, praised the organization of the World Championship taking place in Baku.
Idman.biz reports that the coach expressed his thoughts in an interview with Report:
“There is outstanding organization here, everything is top-level. We’ve taken part in many tournaments, but this one is completely different. We feel like we’re in Turkey — at the hotel, on the streets, everywhere. Thank you for that. But we would love to see more of this support in the stands as well. Your support means a lot to us.”
Tug also commented on their 1–1 draw with Hungary in the first match of Group C:
“This time, the Turkish national team has come with a different lineup. We’re taking this tournament more seriously now. We aim to do great things, and we’ve already seen that in the first match. Hungary is a very good opponent. This draw was important — it’s a valuable result for Turkish minifootball.”
He also spoke about their goals in the tournament:
“We’ve never managed to progress from the group stage at a world championship. Our goal is to advance step by step — first, to make it out of the group.”
