The opening matches of the Minifootball World Cup in Baku were marked by several notable moments.
The first goal of the tournament was scored by France’s Giovanni Calandrau. His goal was the only one in the match against Chad, resulting in a 1–0 victory for the French team.
Portugal currently leads in scoring, having defeated Bulgaria 3–1. So far, this is the highest-scoring match of the morning session at the National Gymnastics Arena.
The tournament also saw its first red card. It occurred during the Hungary vs. Turkey match (1–1), where Deniz Ucma of the nominal visiting team received two yellow cards and was sent off.
Notably, Azerbaijan will begin its World Cup campaign today with a match against Bahrain. Kick-off is scheduled for 20:30.
