Lionel Messi will soon have one of his goals transformed into a work of art.
On May 22, the Argentine football legend will reveal which of his over 800 career goals holds the most personal significance for him.
Following the announcement, Messi will collaborate with Turkish digital artist Refik Anadol to create a visual art piece based on the chosen goal. Proceeds from the artwork’s sale will go towards charity.
The Inter Miami forward admitted that selecting just one goal is a tough decision:
“Every goal is meaningful—some were truly crucial or are tied to incredible memories. But this unique project deserves a goal to be marked as the greatest for the first time. There’s a powerful purpose behind it.”
The final piece will be auctioned in New York under the auspices of Christie’s on June 11, with the buyer to be announced on July 25.
