Qarabag and Udinese launch strategic partnership

A new chapter begins for Qarabag FK, as the Azerbaijani champions establish a strategic partnership with Italian Serie A side Udinese.

The long-standing relationship between the two clubs is evolving into a formal collaboration aimed at developing young talent and sharing expertise across multiple departments, Idman.biz reports.

The initial phase of the partnership will focus on youth academies. Qarabag Academy players will participate in training camps at Udinese, giving them invaluable exposure to European football standards. This experience is expected to enhance their technical and tactical abilities and support their professional growth.

The partnership was made possible largely thanks to the personal initiative of Qarabag president Tahir Gozel, whose friendship with the Pozzo family, owners of Udinese, played a key role in laying the foundation for this cooperation. Gozel’s vision of strengthening Qarabag’s international image and prioritizing youth development has guided this move.

Starting from the upcoming season, academy players will travel to Italy during the summer break. The collaboration will not be limited to youth development — future plans include mutual exchanges between coaches, staff, and club departments, as well as potential joint projects.

This strategic alliance marks a significant step toward Qarabag’s broader goal of becoming a recognized force in European football development.
