UEFA Respect Forum 2025 was recently held in Zurich, Switzerland, at the Letzigrund Stadium, one of the venues for this year’s UEFA Women’s European Championship matches.
Zahra Valizade, a leading specialist from the Infrastructure Department of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), represented the country at the event, Idman.biz reports.
Participants were divided into 17 working groups, each focusing on a specific aspect of sustainability. Zahra Valizade joined the group titled “Smart and Welcoming Stadiums”, where discussions covered topics such as accessibility, integration of modern technologies, inclusivity, and enhancing the overall fan experience in stadiums.
The forum also explored concepts like turning stadiums into community hubs, implementing green technologies, and creating safer, more inclusive infrastructure.
Key themes included UEFA’s 2021–2030 social and environmental sustainability goals and the “FootbALL” program, part of the “Strength Through Unity” strategy. A newly introduced digital platform within this program was also showcased during the forum.
