The surgery of Professional Football League (PFL) President Elkhan Samedov, who was involved in an accident on the road to Khankendi, has been postponed, and the recovery process will continue.
PFL Media and Marketing Director Sanan Abdullayev told Report, Idman.biz reports.
He said that the head of the organization's condition is currently assessed as good: "Elkhan Samedov's treatment continues. He undergoes physiotherapy several times a week. His condition is good. The doctors just advised not to rush the processes and to be a little patient. Yes, he was supposed to have the surgery in May. However, it was considered appropriate for him to wait a while and continue the recovery process. The doctors will determine the time of the surgery and provide information."
The incident occurred on December 16, 2023 on the section of the Yevlakh-Aghdam-Lachin road passing through the Aghdam region. The Mercedes Vito car driven by Baku resident Rasim Gafarli lost control and crashed into a road sign while driving in the direction of Khankendi. As a result, PFL President Elkhan Samedov, Vice President Aslan Shahgeldiyev, Executive Director Zaur Haji-Maharramov, Media and Marketing Director Sanan Abdullayev, Technical and Sports Director Elgiz Abbasov and driver Rasim Gafarli received various degrees of injuries. After the incident, E. Samedov underwent several surgeries.
