“It was a difficult match. Especially the first half was difficult for us. However, after the goal I scored on the eve of the break, the team started playing more confidently.”
It was said by the striker of the Azerbaijani national team U-16, Omar Kosayev, Idman.biz reports.
He shared his thoughts with the AFFA press service regarding the friendly match (2:1) against the Belarusian team of the corresponding age group: “We managed to win by implementing the instructions of our head coach Agil Nabiyev on the field. Agil’s role in this victory was great. Both his tactical moves and motivational conversations with the team gave us additional strength. As a result, we won a confident victory.”
15-year-old striker, who opened the scoring in the 44th minute, said that he expected the opponent's goalkeeper to make a mistake in that episode: "We analyzed the goalkeeper of the Belarusian national team before the match. We knew that he only plays with his right foot. When I saw the goalkeeper transfer the ball to his left foot during the goal episode, I ran towards him and, having seized the ball, put it through the goal."
Kosayev also shared his thoughts on the second friendly match against the Belarusian U-16 team on May 11: "Our second match with Belarus will also be difficult. We will try to demonstrate our performance in the first match. I hope that we will win that match as well."
Azerbaijan (U-16) - Belarus (U-16) match to be held at the Bina stadium on May 11 will start at 17:00.
