Foreign footballer facing discrimination meets with Ombudsman Office – VIDEO

Christian Kamta, a Cameroonian striker playing for Difai in Azerbaijan’s First League, who recently filed a racism complaint with FIFA and UEFA, has met with representatives of the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) Office.

Araz Asgarli, head of the Ombudsman Office’s press service, confirmed that Kamta was invited to discuss the challenges he has been facing, Idman.biz reports.

His claims were officially registered, and inquiries have been sent to the relevant institutions. Kamta was also assured of ongoing support as needed.

“They listened to my statement,” Kamta said. “I believe the issue will be resolved positively and quickly.”

The player had previously alleged racial discrimination in the league, particularly by referees, prompting him to contact international football bodies.
