A new debut has been recorded for Azerbaijan's national football team.
As reported by Idman.biz, Zamiq Aliyev made his first appearance for the team during the UEFA Nations League sixth-round away match against Sweden. The 23-year-old defender entered the game in the second half.
With this debut, Aliyev becomes the 270th player in the 32-year history of the national team. Prior to this, 269 players had participated in 304 matches.
Notably, he is only the second player to debut under head coach Fernando Santos, with Vadim Abdullayev being the first during Santos' initial five matches in charge.
Unfortunately, the game ended in a heavy defeat for Azerbaijan, with a final score of 0-6 against Sweden.
