The Portuguese coach replaces Erik Ten Hag, who was dismissed from his position. As part of the agreement, Manchester United has paid Sporting €10 million for Amorim's services.
The 39-year-old coach has signed a contract that runs until 2027 and will join his new team on November 11.
Following Ten Hag's departure, the team was temporarily managed by Ruud van Nistelrooy.
