“It’s been a while since I’ve started in the lineup. I’m happy to be back in the starting eleven,” said Ajax’s Italian defender Daniele Rugani after his team’s 3-0 away victory against Qarabag.
Reflecting on his return to the starting lineup, Rugani acknowledged the challenging match but expressed satisfaction with the outcome: "The Qarabag game wasn’t easy, but we did our job, and I'm pleased with the result. I feel great and have been preparing intensely to regain my form after the injury. It will take time to become a regular in the lineup again, but I’m physically and mentally strong, which makes me happy."
Interestingly, Rugani also shared an unexpected match-day detail: “A bug bit me before the game, leaving a big red mark on my body. It doesn’t bother me, though.”
Rugani was substituted in the 59th minute, as Ajax clinched a confident 3-0 win.
