Elgiz Abbasov, the interim president of the Professional Football League (PFL), has stated that holding the Azerbaijan Super Cup is currently not a priority.
During the draw for the 2024/25 Azerbaijan Cup, Abbasov explained: "The Super Cup was last held in 2012, and organizing it today is not practical. Time is a crucial factor, and since it is solely a title match, our clubs show little interest. Although there has been experience with the Super Cup in Azerbaijan's football history, the idea was revisited last year but remains irrelevant for now."
