Following his on-pitch fall following a mid-game cardiac attack earlier this season, Tom Lockyer has disclosed the location of the Implanted Cardiac Device (ICD) that was placed in his chest.
Idman.biz reports with referring to Daily Mail that, Tom Lockyer collapsed on the field twice.
Lockyer returned to football to captain his team in their first-ever Premier League season after suffering an atrial fibrillation at Wembley in the Championship play-off final in May. However, a few months later, football turned still once more and fans hoped for the best after the Welsh international was once again the subject of a medical emergency during the match against the Cherries.
As a result, he recently had an ICD implanted. Its purpose is to shock his heart back into activity in the unlikely event that it stops again, preventing him from having to wait for a defibrillator to arrive and maybe saving his life.
