Neftchi midfielder Sessi D'Almeida could feature in Lionel Messi's farewell match for the Argentina national team.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the 30-year-old midfielder has been included in the Benin squad for the current international window.
After their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Burkina Faso and Mauritania, Gernot Rohr's side will travel to Buenos Aires, where they are scheduled to face Argentina in a friendly on October 6.
The match at El Monumental will be Messi's final appearance for the Argentina national team.
D'Almeida could therefore take part in the farewell match of one of the most decorated players in football history if he features against the reigning world champions.
The midfielder has represented Benin at senior international level since 2015, making 46 appearances and scoring one goal.
D'Almeida joined Neftchi from Cypriot club Apollon Limassol in the summer of 2025. The Baku club signed him to a two-year contract with an option for an additional season.
This season, the midfielder has made three official appearances for Neftchi – two in UEFA Conference League qualifying and one in the Misli Premier League. He has yet to register a goal or an assist.
