Sabah defender Tymoteusz Puchacz has been called up to the Poland national team for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Poland head coach Jan Urban has included the 27-year-old in his squad for the September-October international window.
Puchacz returns to the national team after an absence of almost two years. The defender last appeared for Poland on November 18, 2024, in a 2-1 Nations League defeat to Scotland. He came on as a substitute and played 27 minutes.
Puchacz has made 15 appearances for Poland. He made his senior international debut on June 1, 2021, in a 1-1 friendly draw against Russia before featuring in all three of Poland’s matches at Euro 2020. The defender was also included in the national team squad for Euro 2024.
Puchacz is one of Sabah’s key players. He helped the Baku club win the Azerbaijani championship and qualify for the league phase of the UEFA Champions League. In the opening round of the competition, the defender played the full 90 minutes in Sabah’s 4-0 away defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Several days earlier, Puchacz revealed that members of the Poland coaching staff had contacted him and were monitoring his performances.
Poland will play four Nations League matches during the upcoming international window. Jan Urban’s side will host Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 25, visit Sweden on September 28, face Romania at home on October 2 and travel to Zenica for the return fixture against Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 5.
